Collection of Your Information

Device Information and Cookies

Kythe AI may store, access, or collect information directly or indirectly on or from your devices, including by placing, accessing, or recognizing cookies or similar technologies on your devices or browsers. This information may include:

• Device type and settings
• Browser information and preferences
• Operating system details
• IP address and location data
• Usage patterns and interaction data
• Session information

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to:

• Keep you signed in and authenticate your sessions
• Remember your preferences and settings

1. Personal Data

• OpenID information for account association

2. YouTube Channel Data

When you choose to link your YouTube account, we collect the following information through the YouTube API Services:

Basic Channel Information:

• Channel name and ID
• Channel description and profile picture
• Public channel statistics (subscriber count, video count)
• Video titles, descriptions, and public metadata
• Playlist information

Channel Analytics:

• View counts and watch time metrics
• Audience engagement statistics
• Traffic sources and viewer behavior data
• Performance metrics for individual videos
• Historical trend data

This data is collected through the following OAuth scopes:

• email: To view your email address for account management
• profile: To access your basic Google Account information
• openid: To securely identify your Google Account
• youtube.readonly: To view your YouTube channel information
• yt-analytics.readonly: To access your channel's analytics data
• youtube.upload: To enable you to export generated video clips directly to your YouTube channel through our Clipper tool

We will explicitly request your consent before accessing any of this data. To completely revoke Kythe AI's access to your data, you must take both of these steps:

1. Use the "Unlink Channel" button in your Kythe AI dashboard
2. Go to your Google Account settings (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) and manually remove Kythe AI's access permissions

Important: Using only the "Unlink Channel" button without removing permissions in your Google Account settings will not completely revoke Kythe AI's access to your Google Account. Both steps are necessary for complete removal of access.

3. Content You Upload and Generate

When using our AI-powered tools, we process and temporarily store the following:

Clipper Tool:

• Video files you upload for clip generation
• Generated vertical video clips
• Transcriptions and subtitle data
• Clip metadata (titles, virality scores, timestamps)

Vidanator Tool:

• Video files you upload for editing
• Generated edited videos
• Transcriptions and AI-generated story plans
• Subtitle data if enabled

Thumbnator Tool:

• Reference images you upload for style guidance
• Text prompts describing desired thumbnails
• Generated thumbnail images

Text Generation Tools (Ideanator, Scripter):

• Text prompts you provide
• Generated ideas, scripts, and content

Analyzer Tool:

• YouTube channel analytics accessed through YouTube API
• Performance metrics and insights generated from your data

Use of Your Information

We use the collected information to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide AI-powered content creation and optimization tools
• Generate video clips, edited videos, thumbnails, scripts, and ideas
• Generate analytics insights and recommendations
• Improve our content generation algorithms
• Export generated video clips to your YouTube channel when you choose to use our Clipper tool
• Send account-related notifications
• Monitor and analyze usage patterns
• Enhance the Service's features and functionality

We do not:

• Sell your YouTube data to third parties
• Use your data for purposes beyond our Service features
• Store more data than necessary for our Service
• Share your analytics with other users
• Upload any videos to your YouTube channel without your explicit action
• Claim ownership of content you create using our tools

User-Generated Content and Copyright

When using our AI-powered tools (Clipper, Vidanator, Thumbnator), you may upload video files and images. You acknowledge and agree that:

• You are solely responsible for ensuring that all content you upload does not infringe on any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• You must have the necessary rights, licenses, or permissions to use any content you upload
• AI-generated content (thumbnails, edited videos, clips) based on your inputs remains your responsibility to use legally
• We do not monitor or pre-screen user uploads for copyright compliance
• Any claims, disputes, or legal issues arising from copyrighted content you upload or generate are your sole responsibility

Kythe AI is not responsible for any copyright infringement claims, legal actions, or damages resulting from content you upload to or generate through our Service. By using our tools, you agree to indemnify and hold Kythe AI harmless from any such claims.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data according to the following policies:

Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active.

Generated Clips (Clipper):

• Free tier: 1 day retention
• Beginner tier: 3 days retention
• Intermediate tier: 7 days retention
• Maximum of 30 clips stored per account

Generated Videos (Vidanator): Only the most recent video is stored. Previous generations are automatically deleted when a new video is created.

Uploaded Source Files: Deleted immediately after processing is complete or if processing fails.

YouTube Channel Data: When you unlink your YouTube channel:

• All OAuth access tokens are immediately revoked
• Your YouTube channel data is deleted from our systems
• Cached analytics data is purged
• Any stored video metadata is removed

Note: To ensure complete removal of access permissions, you must also manually remove Kythe AI's access in your Google Account settings (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions).

Disclosure of Your Information

We may share information we have collected about you in certain situations. Your information may be disclosed as follows:

By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation.

Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and AI processing through services like Google Cloud and OpenAI.

With Your Consent: We may disclose your personal information for any other purpose with your consent.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Security of Your Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

Policy for Children

We do not knowingly solicit information from or market to children under the age of 13. If you become aware of any data we have collected from children under age 13, please contact us using the contact information provided below.

Updates to This Policy

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time and for any reason. We will alert you about any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the effective date.
